Long time listener, first time caller (at least for a couple of years now) but an avid Egg Forum reader since I learn so much from everybody on here. My wife actually says the Forum is my version of Facebook and since I am always checking in on here. Anyway, I have been thinking I wanted to try something new and after seeing folks on here smoke a meatloaf that is where the dart landed. I made the potatoes before (they are the BGE double smoked potatoes which I would highly recommend), and for the meatloaf I would definitely do this again. Of course I put cheese in the meatloaf since I am a cheesehead and it was a terrific cheesy Sunday with cheesy meats and potatoes with the BGE lights going since it gets dark at 4:30 PM. The meat loaf was 2 lbs of meat (beef and pork) and smoked with apple, cherry, and pecan at 300 degrees for about 2.5 hours until 160.

Yes, I know the Packers lost but I still had a great Sunday since I had my little buddy helping me smoke a loaf 😂 on a brisk but nice Sunday in WI.

Meal looks super legit. Could use a better taste in hockey banners though.

Ha! And the first comment is from a Colts fan! I am glad I put that disclaimer in about the Packers loss. That team in Indy is looking pretty good this year and it was a good game!

Oh man. That’s some great grub. I believe meatloaf is one of the best things to cook on the egg. The first time I made it on the egg I was shocked at just how good it was. Your adding smoked cheese and those potatoes makes it even better.

Glad you decided to step out of the shadows as that is a great cook right there.  Congrats on the banquet.  Eating well is selling that short!
Post away as we are always learning new approaches to cooks here, never mind new ways to spend the $$.

Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Another “ha!” Do they even have hockey in the desert of Las Vegas?!? Just kidding...I was cheering for that team called the “Knights” last year and it is cool to have some ice in the middle of the desert.

I remember not being a huge fan of meatloaf growing up but on the Egg it really hit the spot so completely agree with you! I was getting “bored” and wanted to try something new. Adding cheese to it was great! Here in WI, I always smoke cheese filled brats (not Johnsonsville stuff) and I was surprised when I was in TX last year for work right before COVID hit and they had a smoked jalapeño cheddar sausage at some BBQ joint and I thought the cheese made it! Glad to hear the folks down in TX like you enjoy some  🧀

Thank you Jim! I am always looking for new ideas and it’s good to be back in action. It was a Sunday!

Spending time and 💰 on BBQing, sounds like my life!

Now moving to a “Haha” since you both made me laugh! I didn’t realize that so many people on here are fans of the Green and Gold! At least the Big Green Egg is one of those two colors of the Packers and the BGE is what brings us all to this forum, right? Happy Sunday, Gentlemen!
