My wife is of German heritage. I’ve seen the irksome face when folks get the distinction mixed up.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

That recipe looks pretty good. I came across it too when I was looking for recipes. Report back and let us know how they turned out.nolaegghead said:#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

Gramma Mabel never wrote her recipe down, aside from a notecard with vague proportions to include “A few handfuls”
It took my sisters multiple attempts to convert her amounts to cups/tablespoons, etc. The best we can guess is that one 89 year old arthritic gnarled handful is about 1.5 tablespoons.

Family recipes are the best recipes.SaltySam said:you’re my favorite, Cali. My grandma Mabel used to make kolaches. She’s send us home with 3-4 dozen, typically cherry, strawberry, lemon and prune. They rarely survived the two hour drive back to our place. Kolaches will always have a soft spot in my heart. RIP Gramma! -
