Good Soy Sauce

I know some of you here are big on Asian cooking and flavors. I’ve been dipping a toe in that water over the last year and want more. Some of the recipes I see call for “good” soy sauce. I’ve found a the odd bottle at A small local market that is better than your best grocery store offering, but there’s obviously better out there.
Whatcha got for me??

I like to add a touch of sweet soy sauce to my stir fry. Don't know brand, I just typically buy mid price variant of any sauce from asian market.

I only use Bragg's Coconut Aminos in place of soy sauce. Lower sodium and similar flavor to regular soy sauce. Not likely to compete with higher-end soy sauces, but for marinating and cooking, I can't tell a difference!

I've been using Shiso Soy for a few years. It's not for cooking, but great for sushi and finishing. See: https://shisosoy.com/I've also heard that this is very good: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036TFXY0

+1 on the Haku shoyu in the linked thread. It's a staple

I bought 4 or 5 of the higher rated ones off amazon like 6 months ago. I didnt try the one listed above everyone likes but this one was really good and made in the ISA.

The crack is delicious but don’t use it like regular soy sauce. If you are using it straight, a little goes a long way. I use it in a lot of sauces and usually go 50/50 soy sauce to crack. We use Yamasa as our every day soy sauce and fortify with crack as needed. You can get Yamasa at most decent grocery stores.Btw- Haku makes a world class fish sauce too. I use that as much as the shoyu.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

I don’t profess to be any connoisseur but I do know what I like! It’s Hiller’s Dark Soya which is a product made in India. I just know it is great and I bought it at an oriental grocery store.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time!

i put it in a hot sauce bottle with the plastic shaker lid and mostly use it at the table to finish things, a little does go along way especially at the price

not a recommendation, but I visited the Kikkoman factory in Japan a few years ago -they had soy sauce ice cream. It actually was pretty good! Very odd, but good (that's the general sentiment about Japan as a whole)Opelika, AL

The best local Asian grocery near me has maybe 70' worth of shelf space for soy sauce. They mostly appear to be standard home use sauces. Over all, everything I've tried in the Lee Kum Kee brand has been quite good.
