This is very interesting to me (I wish it had included the tax rates for everyone during, and immediately after, WWII.) Explains how we now have just three individuals with more wealth than the bottom 50% of all Americans.

I was thinking today that this vast wealth inequality just isn't sustainable. It seems clear that the pandemic is making the differences between individuals in the 95th percentile and everyone else all too stark. Something has got to give.Botch said:Flattening the Curve, Oligarch Edition:

appreciated, but i would require a larger "unbiased" audience. John could assemble a team, as would I and let the scores reflect the better cook from a panel of judges.frazzdaddy said:

Want to get this off my chest, even if this thread sinks soon.
A friend asked if I was wearing a mask when in public. I was, but not anymore.
Like so many states utard relaxed the rules, and tonight I drove around Ogden. Every single restaurant and bar (that were still in business) were packed. Having part of the population, or the states, or the cities, follow social distancing, and the rest not, is like having a peeing section in the kiddie pool. By the end of the year everyone in the country will have been exposed (my personal prediction), and I guess the general population have already decided that losing between 1 and 10% of our population is worth it, to defend our "freedoms", and go to our favorite bars/restaurants.
I can also see how our economy being destroyed won't help, either. We're going to have a huge wave of new homeless, and state/city employees/retirees losing their salaries/pensions, adding to the problem.
What's the answer? Hell if I know.“All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure.”
