Bringing BGE onboard is genius, this will virtually eliminate repair costs now that they’ll have a full lifetime warranty on the car.   And they can probably get a hinge upgrade on the hood too, as long as it opens enough to get a new motor in.
  • No burn...just wanted to make sure everyone understood because the next thing you know people would say the prices are going up!!

Does anyone know if there is a diecast 1:24 scale car available for this car?  Would be nice to have one.

  • While I have your ear @The_Buffalo is there anyway to unveil the "Disagree", "Off Topic", and "flag" buttons?
Somehow with the latest update to our wonderful forum the aforementioned buttons have began to mask their users.  You @The_Buffalo may or may not have noticed a increase in usage of flags but I am here to tell you they are rampant and unchecked.
It seems as though the ability to hide ones identity has invoked a certain courage for those who otherwise may not have flagged a post.
The only way I see to re-validate the usage of these tools is to reinstate transparency or remove them all together.

You’re not kidding about flags going rampant. A few of my posts on the coffee thread, all innocuous and one of which was simply a Valentine’s Day card with some coffee cups on them, were flagged for abuse.

    @The_Buffalo

Can we also get the option to enlarge a picture that someone posts if we click on it like we were able to do before all the updates?

That came in handy when looking at food posts. Especially when reading certain labels or spices.

    Thanks!

Help me understand why this bothers you so
    much.
  •  What is the point in having flags if they don't carry any weight?  Why would someone flag @GrateEggspectations for a photo of a valentines card he gave to his wife?

I guess the thing that bothers me the most is we recently picked up a new member to the forum and someone has flagged him 19 times for being a troll, nice way to welcome someone to the forum.

This is the only social media I engage in so maybe I am way off base.

Are you wanting to engage in some sort of forum street vigilante justice?

I'm all in with transparency so whenever I disagree (and it is extremely, extremely rare. I can think of less than five times total) I will post that I made the selection.
Beyond that I don't care.  FWIW-

@DoubleEgger: He’s already succinctly outlined his wants in his post paging @The_Buffallo. “Vigilante justice” was not listed among them.

I take his point that flags lose all meaning when thrown about anonymously and indiscriminately. There is no longer anything to differentiate between flagged hardcore pornography or the abuse of a fellow member and posts devoid of any offensive content. There is no longer a deterrent from flagging the latter. In this context, as the flags appear to have no value whatsoever, why even feature them?

I believe this is what @alaskanassasin was getting at, but he can correct the record if I have misunderstood.

This is way too civil.  I was really hoping for a knock down drag out flame fest on the buffalo’s own thread.  That would be a thing of beauty - buffalo has to buffalo his own thread.

Sounds to me like the issue is with the policing of the flags. What does it matter if they are public or private unless someone plans to confront another member on their wall RRP style?

I think policing is part of the issue. The other is the anonymity, as it negates any accountability.
  • If flagging no longer serves a purpose why even have it?

@alaskanassasin - with the troll action lately if the flags actually did anything the new poster you mentioned would be gone already from the actions of a poser.  You’ve been here long enough to know that’s it a self policing forum and it takes an act of congress to make a poster disappear.
I agree with you that the flags are showing up more since they have become anonymous.

Five troll flags and the post is hidden.
