Heat Hauler for transporting large egg

Has anyone purchased one of the Heat Haulers (HeatHauler.com) to transport your large or XL egg? I saw the Heat Hauler mentioned in another post from 2018. I called the vendor (Heat Hauler opperates out of Joe Hill's Power sports)  today, 20 Jan 2020, and they said they are still selling them. Not much information on the website. I am contemplating pulling the trigger on one to help with transporting on camping trips.

    Looks pretty cool. I wonder abt the ceramic pieces banging around when hitting bumps--lid to base, firebox and ring. Did that come up in your conversation with them, @KSwoll?

    Watching the videos, it looks like it works really well.  I think the hardest part would be how you put your Egg into the assembly in the first place.  That part just isn’t clear to me.

    in the second video he takes the dolly handles off but it appears as though the egg will sit in the square frame until you remove it.

    I cant imagine the egg fares well with bumps and such, Specially for any distance....If it was still warm, I recon it would be even worse.

    Wheels seem like they won’t go over much unless it comes with larger ones outside of the photo you shared

    Couple of thoughts about using it for camping as you are contemplating.  It sure takes up a lot of space.  Every camping trip I have been on space for gear in my vehicle was accounted for. Those wheels don't look like they would roll very well over soft ground.  Might work well for a weekend picnic or tailgate.

    Thank you for all the feedback. I am expecting it to be delivered sometime next week. I will be sure to document the progress and quality of the product. This would only be used for camping trips with large groups and extended family. We usually go glamping with a travel trailer at campgrounds with concrete pads or hard surfaces. My minimax stays in the back of the truck with little to no movement while driving.

    Wheels seem to be a bit on the small side to me, over any kind of uneven ground those little things will not work well.

    Does it lock in when it's truck or does it just swing back and forth as you drive? My Tacoma has a  5ft bed. I don't think it would fit.

     Following up on the Heat Hauler post. It was delivered on Wednesday and finally got it assembled last night. The quality seems ok. I have to assume this is someone’s side gig fabricating the Heat Hauler. The package arrived with all the parts and hardware to assemble. It did  not come with assembly instructions. The seller did send me multiple pictures of different angles. Using the pictures to assemble the Heat hauler reminded me of all the IKEA furniture my wife made me put together, lol. I am curious of the weight capacity of the hex nut hinge assembly. Looks like a trip to Lowe’s for research. The casters seem adequate and easily replaceable if they ever get worn down. It came with two sets of spacers to accommodate a large or XL big green egg. Now to find a neighbor to help me set the egg in it.
