    Must be a biologic. Those pharma companies are super proud of them, cost-wise.

    The 50-rnd drum mag pictured is not original to the gun through.  Finding an original serialized L or C-drum in decent condition is harder than finding the gun.

    If a knife costs more than $40 I'll never use it and just keep it in a drawer. Maybe pull it out every now and then and say "that's nice" before stashing it away for another 18 months.

    Absolutely! I just have this thing where if a knife is super nice and expensive then I can't bare to use it. It becomes too precious. It's a regrettable quirk.

    I have that same quirk. I carry a Kershaw Shuffle II. OD green with a black Tonto blade. It takes and edge and stays sharp. Easy one hand open and close. Feels good in my hand. Very utilitarian. It also has bottle opener in the butt, that comes in handy. I'm not careful with it. I've used it as a screwdriver and if/when it breaks, I'll buy another one.

    That's my EDC. I also have a three blade Schrade Walden from the 60's, that was my grandfathers, that I carry whenever a tie required because being without a pocket knife makes me feel a little naked. 

    That said, these knives listed above are amazing and beautiful. 

    As for the $50 steak, yes, without question. The $50 crack soy sauce, yep. $115 for a needle and stylus, absolutely. I'm not cheap, I mean this is a forum for a $1,000 ceramic pot. I just know how I treat certain things and destroying a nice, expensive knife just seems wrong.

    I was playing around with the customization options on the benchmade site last night. Mini crooked river with upgraded steel and a carbon fiber handle. It’s cool you can change the colors even down to the washers. By the end it was at $350. Gonna wait to the blade show and see what I see there and if nothing great shows up in my price range I’ll probably get the custom mini crooked river.

    I'm not worried about damaging or wearing out expensive knives...they're tools and they're designed to be used.  My problem is I lose them.  Right now I don't know where my two Benchmades are.  They will turn up, most do.

    I paid a dude to clean my boat a while back and I kept a Cold Steel S90V in a rod holder.  Well, it grew legs.  Guy denied ever seeing it.  I guess he got a $90 tip on that job.

    Im the same way with sunglasses as I am with knives. I have a pair of Costas, a pair of Oakleys and a pair of Revos. I wear a $3.99 pair of Home Depot safety glasses 99% of the time once I exit my vehicle. I bought a case of them.

    I never lose a knife, so carrying & using a $150 Benchmade pocket knife is no big deal. They were made to use everyday.

    I have been out of pocket for a while, but still lurk.  I was in my attic recently and found my old Boy Scout knife circa 1970 or so.  This isn’t a benchmark or Keyshaw or whatever, but I proudly carried this for years.  My advice is to buy what you want and be happy ....

    Victorinox Rambler, my perfect pocket knife. Compact and cheap but still has a blade, scissors, file, flat and philips drivers, bottle opener, wire stripper, toothpick and tweezers. I use all of the above frequently, never go anywhere (apart from an airport) without one and own several to account for occasional misplacing.

    After years of sharpening, my pocket knives end up in a block on my workbench, where they get some serious daily abuse on various projects.   That Spiderco is at least 20 years old.  The Benchmade is 2 years old, and will last till I die and pass on to my son!

    I like the Spyderco PM2 for EDC but I also have a Benchmade Northfork with wooden handle that I carry as a dress up knife. Here lately, since the laws have changed, I have been carrying a Microtech Dirac. For anyone looking at cheaper knives I really like the Steel Will line with D2 steel for less than 50 bucks. You can do some work with a Cutjack. First pic is the edge on my Northfork, second is PM2, and last is a Cutjack
