So far, we have a group of 12 from our friends that we cook with, backpack with and friends we go to concerts with.
Hopefully we can meet the @Gonnaneedabiggeregg group coming down from NJ.
Friday will be great weather, only 86⁰F, Saturday, clear and 90⁰F, and Sunday partly cloudy upper 88⁰F.
Be careful with the bourbon......have fun."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Anybody interested in the show, I have a friend who has had a last second cancellation for general admission on Friday and is selling it for $99.00 no fees. (Another 30-40 bucks) saves you enough to buy my bourbon. Just kiidding. I will spend that much in 4 hours."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Given the liquor you drink Ron, $30-40 might get you one drink. Maybe.

@YukonRon I am proud to say "I knew you when." You have really raised your game that at least you offer with foresight to us forum members. "Every meal a banquet and every cook a culinary experience of the finest order." Nailed this whole thread across the board. Relax and gear up for hang-over Monday.Always remember the proverbial "I would have to rally to die!" Likely won't apply but always a good baseline call. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Some things I had to figure out, which is normal, I suppose. That being said, I know a few that said eff it. And abandoned the journey.

A very nice red blend from Spain, fruit forward, smooth as silk, and finishes extremely delicate.

Better to be lucky than good any day! The weather gods are all in with B&B this time around. I should offer something about enjoyment but that is beyond a given...

We got there when Joan Jet opened her set. She killed it, absolutely killed it. She did a song that was done at Woodstock, due to the 50th anniversary. She was worth the price of the show, and for being 66, she still pulls it off.
Next up was live, and they too wore the place out. Did all their songs and two covers of Woodstock tunes. A ton of high energy and these guys left it all on stage.
Then it was the Flaming Lips. Basically the Muppets on Acid, and without a doubt the most entertaining, crowd favorite. That was fun times ten. We were in the Mosh pit and I am picking confetti strips they blew out, several time from my pockets and inside my shirt. I was having a big ol' cup of bourbon, and did not, even think, about covering it up. Without paying attention, I took a sip, and got bourbon mixed with a bunch of strips of confetti.
They blew the place open,
The Night Sweats, followed, awesome group kept the tradition going with a cover of a Woodstock tune and it was awesome. The band finished with a recent hit "sonafabich pour me a drink" which set the stage for John Fogerty.
John Fogerty came on and told the story of Woodstock, following the Dead at 2:30 in the morning. He flat out rocked every CCR great tune, and his sons were incredible as part of his band, He did a ton of covers, and finished with doing "Get by with a little help from my friends." He basically owned the crowd of about 80,000.
Finally the Foo Fighters blasted on Stage. Blasted is not the word. Thermonuclear detonation would be more like it. Super high energy, and wanted to all night or until they were told to leave. Suzanne was in a bit of discomfort, so we decided to bail on his last set.
Suzanne and I go to a lot of concerts and music festivals. I have never, in my life witnessed a first night of the event as powerful as they do with Bourbon and Beyond.
I know I am going to be called a homer, but this is the premier multi-day outdoor show going right now.
One more thing, the concessions are the best I have had, they also had food trucks....everything you could imagine could have been had inside the VIP area.
Spent around a $100.00 on marinade, food and water. It was 90+ degrees nd few people partied to hard and were suffering.
Round two tomorrow!
