Doing a Spatchcock Chicken tonight on my XL. Is raised simply cooking at felt level?

The grate sits 3'' or so below the felt. With the plate setter in it comes up the the felt line.

I made my own 2nd tier with a Weber grate and 4 carriage bolts. Putting this on top of the BGE grate puts food into the dome.

So my question is, what IS raised?

For tonight I'm going to go direct at 400* and use my 2nd tier, no flip.

Enjoy the journey, right?

XL aka Senior, Mini Max aka Junior, Weber Q's, Blackstone 22, Lion built in, RecTec Mini 300, Lodge Hibachi, Uuni, wife says I have too many grills,,,,how many shoes do you have?
