Ceramic chunk gone
I don’t use this egg very much. Fired up the MM for some steak and looked out the window to check temp and noticed one of my L missing a large chunk of ceramic. I haven’t seen this on the forum before.

This is the second time I’ve seen this in the last couple of months besides @fishlessman small that blew out the whole side.
It is covered by warranty

That my friend to the North is a flaw fully within the lifetime warranty for the ceramic portions assuming you are the original buyer. Get ahold of your dealer.

It appears that it is just the glazing not the ceramics. If you can get new one under warranty I'd be all over it. But I wouldn't be afraid to cook on it as is.

So the lifetime warranty is awesome, that's a big reason I bought a big green egg.
I've always wondered if the other brands have as many issues though. Does anyone have any insight?

2 types of ceramic out there. 1) cracked ceramic, and 2) ceramic that is going to crack.
I have had issues less critical than this, and had it covered under warranty.
