OT - 11 Year Old Daughter Wants a Smoothie Blender - OT
I don't want to waste my money, period, and I know I can spend $500 on a BLendTech, VitaMix, etc. However, I would rather not spend $500 like most of us. Is there a reasonable price, let's say under $250? We have a NutriBullet, and it sucks. Thank you for your help.

I bought a refurbed Blendtec for a buck fiddy. Love it, has changed my life.

Thanks Nola. Best price right now from the builder is $279. If it was the buck fiddy the trigger would be pulled.

Before I bought my vitamix I used a nutribullet pro. The pro model works great, IMO

Does Costco usually have vitamixs for $300 on roadshows?
-
Would be nice to know when the show is. I prefer to buy anything I can from Costco, unless you start selling them! 😀

Costco currently has this Vitamix for <$300

I didn't know they had all these different models now......mine is 10 y/o 5200 with a 64 jug. It has an on/off switch, a dial for 1-10 speeds, then a pulse/turbo switch.
Here's some even cheaper ones:

Watch Amazon I got the Vitamix 5000. New for 300. I have seen it similar price since too
-
I have this one. $30. Works great (every couple of months when I actually use it). Never made a smoothie in it. Why would I? 😁

We had one of those and fried the motor trying to blend frozen strawberries and bananas. Don’t waste your money on this if you are actually gonna use it.

I don't remember ever being 11 YO, hahaha. Pretty sure they didn't have smoothies then. Or even 30-ish years ago when my kids were 11!
Probably right. I didn't figure it would last long, but I knew I'd rarely use it. I mostly use the Ninja for salad dressings and such. Did frozen strawberry "ice cream" a couple of times, bananas too. Worked fine, but you have to eat it all at once, can't keep it frozen. Turns into a block of frozen fruit. Now I just buy ice cream.

I looked on CL earlier and I saw a Vitamix 5000 locally for $150. For my blender usage, that'll never happen, but they're out there for those interested.

Ninja makes a small version that makes the perfect amount for daughter smoothies. My 12 year old wanted one and it works great without breaking the bank.

And no is not in your parental vocabulary?

Yes it is, but this will be used to do more than smoothies so seems reasonable to me.

I got a refurb Vitamix on Amazon for $150 to replace my trash Ninja, night and day difference. Maybe the newer, higher quality Ninas are better than my old one, but I haven't doubted my Vitamix purchase once. For $150, I should have bought 2-3 of them apparently, as that was a great buy. Just the jar/canister alone is worth more than that.

Get this. It is the gold standard of personal smoothie blenders. I make 3 or more smoothies a day with this thing, seriously. Containers have been leak proof.
Looks like it is on sale.
Gittin' there... -
3 or more smoothies a day and I could drop a rope from here to the moon.

Will be considered!!
