Last weekend I posted about a "Nashville Hot Chicken" recipe that I tried, and someone else posted a similar recipe called "The Chicken" from Naked Whiz's website. I tried that today. http://www.nakedwhiz.com/thechicken.htm
Not even close. Whiz's recipe is fantastic, maybe the best chicken I've made and just the right amount of heat. This will be in regular rotation from now on:
Green beans and white rice and a garlic Claussen rounded out the meal. I made the following modifications:
- No lemon juice as I ran out of lemons 😪
- I dry-brined the chicken overnight, and reduced the salt in the recipe to 1/2 tsp
- Made a half recipe as i only had four thighs
- Cooked on the Egg at 350, and brushed the thighs with oil halfway through cooking, so didn't add any oil to the sauce
- Instead of dipping/wrapping each piece in foil, I dipped then placed all four into a small bowl, poured a bit more sauce overall, and coolered for 45 minutes.
Like I said, this one's a keeper!
EDIT: Oh yeah, I finally got to try my "japanaese Crack" soy sauce on the rice; that too was fantastic.
