Wish I had a dollar for every time I had to have this discussion with an irate customer with a new car under warranty. Not that you did but a pro tip, Do Not Store dog food in the garage or around the vehicles.

At least you've got Craftsman. Everything in my P.O.S Kobalt set spills out if you turn the box upside down. Once you open it back up it's all a jumbled mess.

Metric socket set not imperial? Odd set as well, 14 mm is little used but 17mm essential.

I can't tell you the impact that having adult children have to this type of thing.

Everyone in the US loses that 10mm socket. It’s the most common metric size over here.

You let your kids near your tools unsupervised?

I currently have a motor saw, a cocktail table and a power washer dispersed round the city at locations unknown to me. Of course no heads up I am taking them.......when I go to use them....can’t find.....I call out. Sorry dad.

I’m proud to say I’m still in possession of all my 10mm sockets.
Also, an 11mm ratcheting box end wrench is a near unicorn.

@Battleborn Ha ha ha... That was funny as hell.
While I will/would not take up valuable space on this thread (or this forum) I would love to hear your take/view on what occurred to see how you would react and what you would do if you were in my situation, as well as how you see it from the other side. Maybe one day if we ever meet...

Tried something new that I thought was share worthy for a weeknight pasta dish. While not a lot to look at, it was light and tasty. All I did different was a parsley garnish. Only change I’d make would be to double the garlic.

@bgebrent - That is a great share right there. And within reason I agree that you cannot have too much garlic as long as everyone involved has the same dish. Otherwise... 😎
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
Such a long story. There were no winners in this case other than the body shop. Good for them.

Anytime. While I did go to court it was not traffic related. I'm sure your situation has a pretty good story behind it.

Kicking myself. I came home for lunch today, and stupidly didn't grab my keys on the way out. Car wouldn't unlock, house door was locked, uh oh! Remembered I had a key hidden in the backyard, but it wasn't there; remembered I had removed it when the lawn care guys were here, d'Oh!
Got a neighbor to call the local lock-n-key folks, 2-hour wait. Fortunately it was the most beautiful day, I sat in the back yard and watched the mountain bluebirds, magpies, two species I didn't recognize, and two very large raptors thermalling over the valley (they were too big to be hawks, weren't eagles, looked like condors but we don't have them here). Realized a bad day locked out of the house beats a good day at work.
Rusty van finally pulled up, skinny kid in jeans (not pulled up) got out, looked at my side door, asked if he could look at my front door. I said "Sure" and by the time I followed him around the door was open!! Glad the local community college doesn't teach lockpicking...
$50 poorer, I got back to the office and noticed our hyper, micromanaging, dysfunctional Commander's van was parked in front of the building. He collapsed at 9:10 Monday morning in a meeting I was in and was taken away in an ambulance; was hoping he'd be out for a week or so, at least. Got peppered with questions before I even got to my cubicle.
Retirement canNOT come soon enough.... (thanks for listening, and sorry) 😕

No need to apologize for that story man. I found it pretty entertaining actually.

Never lived in a house I couldn’t break into ;-) but a spare key hanging in a outbuilding is more convenient

Never been unlucky enough to lock myself out of our current house, but I would climb the fence in the back, unlock the shop with the digital keypad, grab my lock picks and get in through the deadbolt.
That or call my neighbor that has a spare key. Probably the latter, first.

More in line of what did I do today....as earlier, got the scout running.
Cut my grass, weedeated the front yard...got the back yard to do tomorrow.
Sat on my back porch and just relaxed...as I fired up the egg for a steak dinner. I think sitting on the porch and relaxing is the first time I've done that since I bought the place (oddly enough whole reason for buying)
