OT-a song that evokes the best of your earlier life...OT (first posted Sep 2015)

There are 4 songs that stuck out

...the first song I remember is "Jeremiah was a bull frog" mom used to play that for me everytime we would get in the car.

Bad moon rising was another song that always played during Haloween.

Song that brings me back to good times in high school. ..Steve Miller band , the "joker" our oldest friend had just gotten his license and would drive us around blaring that in a 1995 , black 2 door Chevy 4x4 tahoe.

Once I finally got my 4 wheels of freedom...I had travis Tritt's album with the song " Great day to be alive"

I had a black single cabstep side lifted z71..that thing was a piece of shart but I remember just cruising on a perfect spring day with all the windows down

damn the hair on the back of my neck stood up when I clicked play on that, elementary school in the early 70's it seemed all our teachers were hippies & we had a breezeway that connected two sections of the school together where we'd wait for the school buses, invariably one of them would whip out an acoustic guitar & belt this one out, it was in heavy rotation there too - holy CHIT man thanks 😀

this one comes to mind also, during our 'May Day' celebrations each class would do some kind of dance around a parachute & this is the one song I can remember playing like it was yesterday

for me it was stuff played extremely loud more than the song but geils, ramones, dead kennedys, b52's.....house party music....occasionally beethoven. fairly tone death, need to feel it resonate, actually extremely loud turned up. pisses people off in other cars that are on cell phones loud. getting tough lately, the newer stuff on the radio, if i have to listen to that rain in africa song one more time im going to kill someone

Third Eye Blind's "How's it gonna be" brings me back. Ahh the days of TRL on MTV when every dude thought Carson Daly was the man cause he was engaged to Jennifer Love Hewitt for about 3 seconds.

If you're thinking Toto, that tune is excellent (and at least 25 years old).

There may be a newer tune with "rain in africa" that I'm not aware of...

But, here's another great tune from my junior high years, a song that I even got my bar band to do (nobody liked it in the dance clubs, but in an outdoor gig, they LOVED it!) Brownsville Station only had one major hit (the original Smokin in the Boys Room,) but their minor hit was fantastic. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Martian Boogie!!!

Here is another one I rate right up there with Joy To The World and The Martian Boogie.

When I first told my wife about this song, she swore it did not exist and I was just making it up and being silly.
