This might be a stupid question but what is the advantage to cook with a wok on the egg instead of the stove top unless you are out in the woods away from a kitchen? But damn that does look awesome anyway!

And it is almost certainly better than PF Chang’s. I’ve eaten there twice and the cheap little Chinese place across the road is twice as good at half the price. I might just have to hunt down some orange chicken tomorrow.

Any reason to fire up the Egg and cook outside is a good reason. Pretty simple. That, and my wok has a round bottom and I can’t use it inside. The heat the Egg produces is incredible and there’s also no oil splatter to clean up on the stove.

Not to mention it keeps the funk smell outside.

Yep. That too. Overall though, I cook anything I can on the BGE. they are versatile cooking machines.

I guess that is why you are wearing gloves :)

    Awesome looking cook BTW

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Haha well that’s the interesting part. I’m an avid fisherman who’s allergic to fish. I’m ok with touching them as long as I don’t rub my eyes, etc.. Eating fish is definitely a no no for me. I’m wearing gloves to give a good grip and not get stuck by the heavy spines a Cobia has.

Nice!  I just got a wok from CGS and am loving it.

As far as the question as to why on the egg rather than on the stove, BTUs.  Most stove tops simply don’t get the wok hot enough while the egg gets it piping hot and brings it back up to temp quickly.

This was my first meal on the wok, I’ve since gotten better at it.

Totally agree about the heat. I just flat out love cooking outside on it, too.
