First Try at Burnt Ends! (They took forever!)

Worth the wait! I usually slice and serve (eat) the point, but the Prince and I decided to go for the glory last night with my NYE leftovers. Took 3 hours to cook down. Maybe we used too much delicious goo? We just mixed up a whole lotta good stuff: BBQ sauce, mango preserves from the Caribbean, brown sugar, Worcestershire, honey, habanero hot sauce, some coffee rub, some butter. He and his pals, home from college, hanging out here, came up from the basement and destroyed them. They left me enough for 1/2 an Amoroso club roll that I had to gobble on the fly, quickly garnished with cole slaw and pickles. OMG crazy good. Definitely gonna do this again!

Awesome. Many of the beef purists do as you suggest, slice and serve the point with the flat. I’ve always used the point for burnt ends or maybe held ver for chili. In my household, way too many leftovers for just slicing and serving. Burnt ends as in beef candy is ideal, IMHO, worth the wait!Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
