New Years Prime Rib....first timer

Options
Pushed all the chips in for New Years and threw a prime rib on the XL. 2 rib, 4 lb for four of us turned out to be perfect.

I used pieces of a few recipes i came across, but for the most part used 'Ray;s Herb Butter Prime Rib' recipe as a guide. Dr Lampe knows his stuff, it turned out amazing. rare enough for me, but still in the comfort zone of some guests that preferred closer to medium. My only real variation in cooking was throwing it back on at 500 for a quick sear at the end. After reading quite a few BGE write ups, this seemed to be the consencus way to go, and I have to agree. Made a great au jus with the drippings!!

Definitely excited for the next one!! Thanks to the BGE community for all the help!
