Not that I need one, but at that price it might be worth the gamble! Could this be the alternative to the expensive Thermapen, the same way that many knockoffs from China did to YETI?

My 2 Thermapens have a mind of their own and take several times of opening and closing the probe arm before it will take a reading. If you factor this in it's about a 30 second instant read thermometer.lol

bought two javelins duos for gifts... I opened one... I love it however now I am a thermometer short in the gift department. I am hoping they go on sale again soon. I will use the dot for low and slow.

To Ron my favorite on here I bought the green egg one first not knowing it was not a thermo pen thought it was the best then bought a thermo pen way better still no problem with it and then i saw the javilin and bought one as good as thermo pen but if you leave it open it does not turn off. and now i am going to have to get one of these thanks.XL & waiting for my Mini Max Bloomington MN.

I'm sure that thermometer is fine. It has good reviews from verified buyers, little suspicious of it having too good of an overall review. camelcamelcamel.com will let you put a price notification on it, when it inevitably drops back down to round $15 I think it's worth a shot.______________________________________________I love lamp.. -
