For a quite short, and extremely scary anecdote about him, read James Brady's
Fly Boys. It's about the US Navy's assault on the island of Chi Chi Jima.

Amazing husband, father, and President. I was young when he served as President. Reading about him now, wow, he was a true American hero and patriot.
Reading about his love of family and his daughter Robin was very emotional and eye opening.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I found out President Bush training plane from the army is a stone throw away from my parents house. Apparently the President even autographed it at one point.

In was stationed on board USS Iwo Jima for the first part of my naval career. In 04 or 05 we were in Portland, ME for a Fleet Week. One of the days we were there, they shut down the Quarterdeck while I was trying to get off the ship. I was kinda p!ssed. After a short wait, I heard 41 being piped on board in naval tradition.
The man drove his personal boat to the dock, moored it right behind the ship and came on board.
I found out shortly after that the SS let the Officer of the Deck know of 41's arrival about 10 minutes before hand.Las Vegas, NV -

Just watched some of the Bush train videos. That’s pretty awesome. Very cool train. A great way for people to gather along the tracks to pay respect.

I'm kind of curious about the train, very cool indeed. Is the train a tradition or is it specif to H.W.? If so why?DoubleEgger said:Just watched some of the Bush train videos. That’s pretty awesome. Hey pal, just trying to contribute. I honestly think it's really awesome that America does things like this and wanted to comment. Thank you for your in depth criticism, so deep and profound! I'll assume this message you sent so late last night was the booze talking, your really can't be this much of an internet troll / A-hole can you?DMW said:

Gotta say, I could probably google the answer to every question I've posted on this forum, but that loses any social interaction and is like computer dating instead of going to a party.

@DoubleEgger thanks for the post and information, I was born in 1970 and I had time today to research, I think the last time they had the "train" was 1969, thus my question. I had just never seen it before. Again, tanks for the information.DoubleEgger said:
