Dickies isn’t very good but it’s substance. Every time want a meal, I’m not seeking out the best meal I’ve ever eaten. Same with BBQ. Some folks, including my wife, refuse to eat BBQ out because _____  makes it better. I’ve never understood that logic.

Tried Dickies. I have not gone back. Likely will not do so, due to other options that are available.
As long as I do have options, I will use them, when selecting a place to dine. Dickies is not a place I choose to frequent for dining.
@DoubleEgger - I have had your Q, I understand Marissa's logic. You set the bar extremely high, my friend.

Wife got some to go for us after I got home late a couple of months ago.  I got the brisket, it was long stringy pieces cut with the grain, bone dry and chewy like jerky.  Should have just opened a can of Hormel.  First and last time.

Lunch is always better at the run of the mill places.

Agreed. The store manager is generally around during the day.

Dickeys is a Dallas Tx original since 1941. I remember eating there in the mid to late 60's.
Was great at that time old school BBQ from offsets, along with Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse on Inwood. Dickeys went franchise in 1994 and downhill from there.

Horrible place. Even worse food.  They once sweetened their tea with Lye and about killed a lady.

@g37 enjoy it, I’m sure it’s a nice change of pace for the area.  I wish we had your seafood, climate and sunsets.

I’m sure that has about zero to do with Dickies and their bbq, that’s human error that can happen anywhere.  I believe this happens in bars from time to time when they clean and don’t fully flush their beer lines.

You’re absolute right. I should have been less vague.  Dickies sucks because their food is terrible, not because they about killed someone by putting Lye in their tea.

they actually do. I rarely  eat there but they crack their own eggs for egg mc muffins and pour batter for pancakes, cook their burgers on a  flat top. More than I can say for the Homewood Suites I'll be in tomorrow night. Those are some nasty-a$$ eggs. I can't do it.

The Westin's food is pretty bad too. Not Dickie's bad, but still dreadful.

We had one here for a few years, and it closed this year. I could not bring myself to try it. It never looked busy, even during the lunch hour.

My old favorite BBQ place became inedible after i got my egg. I went back there about a year after starting to make my own and can't believe I liked it at all. Got talked into eating there a few months ago and regretted it after my first bite. There is no comparison with what comes off the egg.

The egg has ruined most of my eating out, except for candy bars and some fast food, because I don't expect much I'm not disappointed. For the life of me i can't make good mexican food, so i have a couple of places I frequent to get that fix.

I think I'll throw some pulled pork in the sous vide now and have that for supper later!!
