Thanksgiving Cheat
I bought a turkey and decided not to smoke it for today's meal. I cheated and went by the local Costco and picked up a Kirkland brand boneless fully cooked vacuum sealed turkey breast.
I reheated the vacuum sealed turkey breast in my miraculous rethermalization device otherwise known as a Sous Vide water bath. I reheated the breast for 3 hours at 140 Degrees.
Without any doubt, this was the best turkey breast I have ever had. I don't think I will ever go to the trouble to cook a turkey traditionally in the future. It was tender and moist and very flavorful, it tasted exactly like a turkey should.
Never doubt the ability of Sous Vide to produce excellent food.

SWMBO likes the Chef Steps version of turkey parts. Basically similar process to doing steak, a sear, bubble bath, finish sear. Always very good.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Confessions get you elevated status here. Well played. Glad it worked out.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
For years I would always buy both a full bird and a breast. I would egg the bird and freeze the breast for sometime later when we were no longer sick of turkey!
Your honest assessment makes me want to dash to COSTCO in the morning as I bet they will be at fire sale prices besides! Thanks!!!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Sometimes cheating is a good thing. It can be a real lifesaver when pressed for time.

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out.
