Stuffing on the egg?

I did a search but didn't see any thread.

Any recipes for stand alone stuffing on the egg?

Always search using Google, by the way.  The forum search feature sucks turkey balls.

stuffing can get very bitter when smoked. little stevens recipe works well, gives it more of a cooked in the bird flavor and texture but i would cook it in the oven

Always in the oven for us with a pack of turkey wings spread across the top of the pan to get some turkey love into the stuffing.

In our family we call that dressing. Stuffing goes in the bird.

I don't like it on the egg......with all the butter, it gets kind of bitter.  I make it in the oven, then might throw it on the egg (covered in foil) just to keep warm.

I'd think the porosity of bread would absorb too much smoke.

For us, stuffing is bread-based.  All of the wild rice, oyster and other like mixtures are dressing and never make into a turkey.  We call the bread-based mixture stuffing whether it goes into a bird or not.  It all eats.

  • I do extras stuffing (dressing) on the egg every time we do a turkey. We actually prefer to do the turkey in the oven, which is fine because I always do a ham as well on the egg. I cover the stuffing and we have never found it to be smoky or bitter, I do not add any wood or chips.
