Should I spend the money

so the local egg dealer has a left over xxl the older style.   They offered it up to me to $1000.....with free delivery, nest and nest handler.   Should I spend the money.....can I get cool stuff from @tjv?

@Photo Egg I will more than likely end up pulling the trigger, and then acting like I talk to my wife about it and apologizing immensely for the misunderstanding. Always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

I have no idea how much interchangeability there is between parts for the XXL and 2XL. When BGE quits making replacement parts for the XXL would they be likely to just replace everything with a new 2XL?

  • At the very minimum this should be considered a money making venture. Buy it and sell it for 1400 and make a quick buck. Or, use it. And yes, everything tjv sells will fit in it, regardless of the intended size. My guess is they will all fit in there at the same time even.

@lkapigian they have no idea when it co es to BGE stuff.   They just started selling it this year and now need all of the inventory off the floor to make room for Christmas decorations.   I do t get it.....but more than likely I’ll be giving them a check on Saturday and waiting for delivery.

oh boy... I knew an XL has existed for years. Then I thought the XXL was a joke played on eggers here who "just HAD to have the largest one" but I now know it exists - BUT now you are telling me there is such a beast as an XXXL BGE?

If you NEED and would use an XXL it's a good deal. If not, it's a waste of a Grand. My large is far more egg than I need. They could offer me an XXL for $100 and I'd say no. It would just sit there, collecting dust. And I'd be out a Grand.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

even after the new release, lower price, you'd be the second or so person asking about xxl accessories. I'd make a woo for it but wait Big Green EGG already copied that one for it, using the woo with half stones as an indirect set up, genuis thinking on egg's part,  no wait that is their flame boss........

I would just use the xl or large CGS eggcessories, instead of custom made from them, depending on which eggs you already have.

And I would make sure that the warranty applies as for any egg sale. XXL’s crack too. Ask @DMW

If has warranty, I’d be all over it. The XL Adjustable Rig from CGS fits, but you need to use the BGE plate setter for indirect.
