Had an Exmark. It had an issue, not saying Exmark is bad, but mine was a lemon. Went with a Kabota 60 inch zero turn and am very happy. Best of luck with yours.Mt Elgin Ontario - just a Large.

Good looking rig you got there. Once you go zero turn there is no going back. I recently made the conversion myself and now wish that I would of done it years ago.
My first and I hope last zero turn.

What size lawns do you guys have? Our new house has almost half an acre and I am really wondering if I need a smaller riding mower. My backyard will be about 30ft deep but about 160ft wide. I also have a 30ft by 100ft side yard on one side. It’s doable with a push mower but in the 110degree summers spending 3 hours doing yard work doesn’t sound too fun.

I mow 3 acres here at my place in Saucier. But I mow 15 acres at my place in Hurley.
If you are only mowing a 1/2 acre, you really don’t need a 35 HP zero turn. But you know the old adage, sometimes it’s not what you need but what you want that matters👍

Exmark actually makes some great mowers. You can get a lemon in any brand. I just hope this John Deere is not a lemon. So far so good👍

They make “residential” versions of zero turns that don’t cost near as much as commercial cutters. That’s all you would need for cutting that small of an area. On a separate note, a residential zero turn will still blow the doors off of a regular mower.

I agree with you @sgh exmark/toro are great mowers with great cuts, must have been a lemon like you said @gmac

I bought the Ferris for the big block engine and full suspension, mowing rough ground is no longer a issue.
With my last mower 8hrs of mowing killed my back, and I don’t have back issues.

Scag is another good one. I know it has more to do with dealer location, but Scag and John Deere have probably 95% of the market in my area.

Scag makes a good mower... overbuilt like the titanic though, if you hit something hard enough the welds and frame breaks... or used to anyway
