@TideEggHead, thanks for checking on us. We were very fortunate here in the foothills. We had a couple inches of rain and a little wind with some gusts but damage and flooding is at a minimum. There are some areas along the rivers that does have flooding but nowhere as bad as predicted. We dodged the bullet this time!
I do feel sorry for our eastern neighbors as there is a lot of flooding/destruction in those areas.Lenoir, N.C. -

I have a collection of Katrina Hurricane photos that I can't post publicly, they are so bad.

To lighten it up, Katrina wiped out the only 2 porn shops in south Mississippi. There were dildos, lube, and porno dvds all over the beach. I didn’t take any pictures. While cleaning out the storm drains I found: a half pair of dentures, a Lil Rascal wheel chair, a complete kitchen, a tall mechanics rolling tool box, and strangely a net bag with a complete scuba kit including wetsuit. Plastic bags and clothes were hanging from oak trees. The beach highway was undermined and we pumped concrete into the voids while trying to keep the marines from driving over and collapsing the road. I also learned not to trust any verbal agreement with the federal government. I will have to leave that last undiscussed.

So far it doesn't seem as bad as happened from a storm a couple decades ago but still...pig poo back into rivers and the sound.

At least the pig poo will biodegrade relatively quickly. The runoff from the coal ash ponds on the other hand are a different story. Hopefully there was no industrial runoff also.
