    The official Eggfests are good to attend at least once for the spectacle of the crowds and vendors, and to try lots of different things cooked on BGEs.

    ButtBlast and Brisket Camp are good to attend if you want to really get to know some of the people on the forum.  Because they’re not sanctioned, folks are cooking on all kinds of rigs, not just Eggs.  They are closer to big parties than anything else.  They are also free, even though they could probably charge admission for some of the acts that end up putting on a show:

    Unofficially it looks like April 13th will be the day. We normally hold it on the next to last Saturday in April, but that will be Easter weekend in 2019 so we are looking at the weekend before.

    I’d love to see a spot in the forum to discuss and review along with upcoming dates of all of these “non sanctioned” events. It really seems like a blast and I’m sure other egg heads would find value in it.
