It wasn't in town.   He took a commercial flight back.  We tried calling Linda Hamilton, but she didn't answer her phone.

And to top it off, my flight back was on Frontier. What a joke, this is their concept of a "tray table".

I’ll bet her plane had better legroom too.

I guess my thought is - I wouldn't consider someone whod drop a jet flight over wifi to be someone who understands rude.  Cool you got to go that way (what'd you do, power cycle the router? ;) ).  You should compare the NO Banh Mi to say San Jose/SF.

I flew Frontier once, a year or so ago.  They still had hooman gatefolks (no kiosks) and as I approached them, they said, "Ah, here's another guy for the Exit Row", and they gave me that seat.  I was aghast, was like I'd gone back in time 20 years.
At my return I actually wrote them a Thank You letter, and told them I'd be using them in the future.  Got a letter back:
Paragraph 1: "Thank you for flying with Frontier, and we're glad blablabla..."
Paragraph 2: "Unfortunately, beginning next week we'll be charging extra for the Exit Row blablabla...  (guess their 1%er CEO needed a longer yacht that year)
Paragraph 3: "We look forward to providing your travel blablabla..."

Sweet while it lasted.  I retire in less than 2 years and will be driving in North America, and flying military Space-A overseas from then on.  I'll have the time.

Thanks for rebirthing this!  I missed the part about Taylor, but I did go see @nolaegghead a little later in 2018, and he broke down your search for a Bahn Mi in Nola.  I swear he didn't say anything you joining the Mile High Club on Taylor Swift's jet....

So,  is this a legit cook?  We've talked about raiding one of your cookouts,  but July 28th is a Tuesday,  not Saturday.   My wife and i are wanting to roll up our sleeves and bring liquid provisions for a stellar cookout!!!!

From KoKyu Na’Mean, here in Durham.  It was really good.
"Best Banh Mi in NC", that's quite an endorsement.

Perhaps next time you are in Austin, we can take a tour (...to Houston, if we are really dedicated, though Austin has a good spot or two too).

That being said, that does look pretty good (as does their menu)
    (now only 16 stone)

    GE induction stove
Gasser by the community pool (currently unavailable)
Scale (which one of my friends refuses to use)
Friends with BGEs and myriad other fired devices (currently unavail IRL)
Occasional access to a KBQ and Webber Kettle
    Charcuterie and sourdough enthusiast
    Prosciuttos in an undisclosed location

Unfortunately I have yet to have a Banh Mi.  I have heard that Elizabeth's has a really good one in Austin.  Have you tried it yet?

It's mostly about the bread.  Making it just right is an art form.

I had a sardine banh mi last week that was awesome.
