    Another interesting fact is that after WWI they were called Alsatians abroad because of the negative connotation of all things German. I believe they are still called that in the U.K.

    Thanks! And I'm sure yall are going to love your new Havanese! I don't have any experience with homemade dog food. You might look into a raw meat/food diet though. Check Google and YouTube out.
    Yeah, the breeder suggested a raw food diet, I love meat rare but how long can a dog eat raw hamburger before it gets sick. I agree with you though, I have heard sweet potato (on BGE :) ) Maybe Blue Buffalo or something. Thanks for replying! 
    Tractor Supply has a dogfood called 4 Health. It has the exact same ingredients as Blue Buffalo but you can get a 30 pound sack cheaper than a 17 pound sack of Blue Buffalo. It is what the breeder that I bought my Boxer from uses.

    Thanks. My last dog Max came from the local Saturday pet adoption at Petsmart and was with me for 15 amazing years.
