New 4 legged friend

As a lot of yall know we had to say goodbye to our Max after 15 years. We recently added this little (for now) girl to our family - Aspen. She's an 8 week old german shepherd. Still miss our Max but excited to bring Aspen along for the ride!

She's a cutie!  Enjoy puppyhood. Will she be an indoor girl or mistress of the outside?

Thanks Ron! She will be mostly indoors but we have a good size yard she will have plenty of room to run around and play. She's a handful!

Appreciate it! We actually had to decide on her when she was just 4 weeks old looking like the below picture. She was the lightest of the females and we couldn't be happier with her markings and personality!

Awwwe how cute!!! We have a Havaneese coming next week for my 9 year old daughter, were all excited. I know this is OT but being the first canine in a long time, how many of you make homemade dog food? I'd rather not feed him commercialized crap.
    Thanks,

Thanks! And I'm sure yall are going to love your new Havanese! I don't have any experience with homemade dog food. You might look into a raw meat/food diet though. Check Google and YouTube out.

My first dog was a female GSD . My Dad got both of use the same week. Supposedly I learned how to walk hanging onto her shoulder.

Yeah, the breeder suggested a raw food diet, I love meat rare but how long can a dog eat raw hamburger before it gets sick. I agree with you though, I have heard sweet potato (on BGE :) ) Maybe Blue Buffalo or something. Thanks for replying!

Tractor Supply has a dogfood called 4 Health. It has the exact same ingredients as Blue Buffalo but you can get a 30 pound sack cheaper than a 17 pound sack of Blue Buffalo. It is what the breeder that I bought my Boxer from uses.

We used a puppy mix from Costco, for our Great Pyrenees. She seemed to like it very much.

Beautiful pup, and congrats on the addition. There is nothing more fun than a puppy.

Our lab is going to have hip issues, it’s just a matter of when.  He’s on supplements now and after doing some reading, we decided to also switch him to a non-grain food which gives him more protein and avoids some of the inflammatory properties from grains.  Lots of brands out there, but we’ve been buying the Kirkland brand beef and sweet potato, they also have salmon, turkey and other versions of grain free..  It does seem to be less calorie dense than the Iam’s he was on previously so we had to adjust how much we feed him.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Cool looking puppy btw.  My daughter rescued a mutt about a year ago and there is definitely some German Shepard in her lineage - very similar markings.

I used to feed my dogs roast chicken, sweet potatoes and spinach. Roast the chicken and sweet potatoes, grind in food processor with some spinach. Add chicken broth as needed. They loved it-fed it till we found pet food here in Cincy made inhouse. I got so sick of dog food made in China that was recalled for antifreeze.
