Our many social inconsistencies amuse me.

If it's painted, it's artistic and acceptable.

The same scene as a photo is pornography.  Go figure.
Simple semi-nudity in any media is pornographic?

Sure.  For the record, I could care less either way.  I'm merely pointing out the inconsistency.

Try posting a photograph version of the the painting Nola just posted above - it would get flagged.

Fellows I wasn’t trying to start a conflict. Just thought the painting was cool. But I can’t lie, I love when a conflict fires up. Especially on Ron’s thread  ;)

I don’t consider the painting to be pornographic. However, if it would have had an Alabama logo on it, it would be an abomination!

Found a couple of lathering bowls at a yard sale. They say “Captains Choice” on them. After a little googling, the large one is 29 bucks and the xlarge is 32 bucks plus shipping if bought new.
Got both of them for a grand total of 5 bucks.

I may give the xlarge a whirl and see how it does. Worst case scenario they will make a nice what not if nothing else.

My senior year in college I took an elective course clear out of my line of study. That was an artsy-fartsy class that included working in ceramics which I dearly loved! To this very day I still have every thing I made except for one pitcher I gave a favorite aunt. Talk about fun!

Talk about building a great lather. The bowls certainly work as advertised. This came from about a dime sized drop of Taylor Of Old Bond Street Soap. Pretty darn impressive for sure.

Nothing like a nice lather spread around by some fine Badger hair.

Straight razor or safety razor @SGH ?

  • I have my grandfather's straight razor, bowl, and brush. I only use 2 out 3 though.

99% of the time I use a Vikings Blade Vulcan safety razor. The other 1% (when I’m feeling brave” I will break out the Blades Grim straight.
My hands and arms are so stiff now it ain’t often that I will use a straight. I just don’t have good control of my hands anymore. All through my late 20s, 30s and early 40s I alternated between a straight and DE on about a 50/50 basis.

Leave it to @SGH to find a couple lather bowls with a sphincter on the side of them!

For a second there I thought that was something out of a Bruce Lee movie.
I remember when I was a kid, a buddy and I watched one of those movies and later we were in the yard throwing an old motorcycle sprocket at a tree trying to make it stick like it was a throwing star. Dad walks outside, and was not exactly thrilled.
