Found a couple local tri tips. Only select grade but they looked much better and the price was right. This is why you keep a good soft cooler in your car. Never know when you might find a good deal.

Thank you,

Nice purchase.  Although I bought a brisket with the same label a while back because the price was right ($1.79/pound) and it felt as good as any of the prime packers they had in the cooler.  The flavor was good, but the tenderness was not there when it finished.  I still enjoyed it overall - it just wasn't prime beef.

Love a good Tri-Tip it's always everywhere here in CA.  Picked up some yesterday 2 pack of untrimmed on sale for 2.98 lb.   Wish we could get prime brisket in CA like you get in TX. Costco has prime briskets right now for 3.29 and I have been stocking up, only available during the winter, never during the summer and fall.
LBGE - I like the hot stuff.  The big dry San Joaquin Valley, Clovis, CA

Agree 100% with the having a cooler at the ready and standing bye. There is 4 things that a man should never leave home without. A gun, a knife, a cooler and a can of snuff.
On a seperate note, nice score and I know a fool who deep frys those =)

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.
