How often do you use your BGE?

My husband got me a large BGE for Christmas (well, a few days before Christmas). We have already used it several times, and everything is AMAZING! I'm curious as to how often most people use theirs? Am I crazy for wanting to use it everyday? Or will the novelty wear off?
Here's a picture of my first whole chicken on the BGE for the fun of it!

I use mine 3-4 times a week. My wife has stopped cooking and handed the cooking duties over to me full time. Congrats on the gift.

3-5 times per week. They often run all day on the weekend, cooking various things for the week~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

I've had my Egg now for three years and it gets used three or more times a week, regardless of weather. The versatility never gets old.

Winter 2-3 times a week. Summer? Pretty much every night and alot of weekends. Throw in the low-n-slows and both eggs going at the same time and it's actually alot lol..enjoy!

Welcome to the group, a source for everything you will need. How often, she says. Just think of the four food groups and let your imagination take care of the rest. Happy New Year to ya!The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Above all, have fun. Great gift.
I use one of the outdoor toys on average 3-5 times/week but it is somewhat schedule driven. For the past 10 days I have had one going 9 days out of ten and two running on a couple of occasions. It just depends.
Regarding the novelty-for me, all protein is cooked outdoors year-round. The novelty may transition to enjoying and appreciating the utility of the BGE, coupled with playing with fire and adult supervisory beverages. It's all in what you want.
BTW- there is a good chance you will see the need for another BGE (for your husband) down the road-that is natural

An average of 4 days a week, often that will involve cooking 2 lots of food on a weekend day. The novelty hasn't worn off after 12 months, the only change is the addition of a second (smaller) Egg to allow more fast midweek cooks.

Every weekend for the last 5 years. Never get tired of it.

Me either - gas has been shut off to it since 2008. Outdoor only for me (but I live in the desert so weather not an issue).
@KathrynL922 Welcome to the site - have fun.

Well, it’s -30°C / -22°F here today, so I’m down to once every couple of weeks.
Spring through fall, average once per week on weekends. -
We cook about 4-5 times a week - leftovers or Subway the other days. I use the outdoor kitchen for 90% of that.Coleman, Texas

Like many above, 3-5 times per week.
We normally go out on Friday night. But weekends are normally pretty egg heavy.

The thrill will not wear off, my friend. Good times ahead. Enjoy. Use it the way you would your oven, grill and smoker.

I get jittery if I haven’t fired mine up in a couple days.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I am happy to hear that using the BGE won't get old! (Especially since I've wanted one since I was a teenager after eating my first bite of food off the BGE). We have already done burgers, steaks, chicken, pork loin, turkey, and we are doing our first pork butt tomorrow! I'm so excited to continue to learn and cook!

We probably averaged 3X a week for the first 10 years. I’m probably down a little but I’ve gotten some new toys that take some of the load off the egg. Actually parted with one of my larges a few weeks back and added a dedicated pizza rig. BGE still gets the load of the work though and we aren’t slowing down any time soon. We are in deeper now than we have ever been as far as cooking outside with fire goes.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

You have many happy years and many thousands of dollars of other eggs and accessories ahead of you before you would even consider slowing down. We can help you with that here tooKathrynL922 said:Thank you all for the warm welcome! I am happy to hear that using the BGE won't get old! Same here, have wanted one for years, finally got one last year, use it about every weekend that I am home. Spend the rest of the week going though forum recipes to find something I want to try cooking.ElkhornHusker said:Not often enough. Definitely more in the summer. Once or twice a week. Enjoy the ride!Michiana, South of the border.

As often as possible since we retired. Only use the oven to reheat what I previously cooked. Novelty hasn't worn off as there are so many things to try that I never knew about until I joined the forum. Oh, and hug that guy who bought the Large for you. He's a keeper in my book!Ubi panis, ibi patria.
