With all this chatter it reminded me of an 8oz bottle of Maker's Mark Sauce that somebody gave me a while back. Obviously it had gotten shoved to the back of our pantry...out of sight out of mind!  Guess I better be trying it, huh? LOL

  • Blantons has been my go to lately. I'm on a few waiting list at some local Specs here in Houston. I like to keep at least two bottles stashed away.

Well I sprung for a 750 of Makers 46 today at Kroger. Turns out the price was even better than I thought and I got it for $30.99 plus a 15% ($4.65) discount! Seeing I had priced it at even two more stores and all wanted $39.99 (must be a conspiracy!) I think I did pretty well at $26.34 plus tax huh? Makes me wonder if I better go back and get another or two for reserve...

@RRP - relative to here you did quite well.  Best I have seen (as recently as yesterday) in the Kroger shop was $37.99.

  • I’ve found Maker’s Cask Strength to be really smooth with a good kick to it.

Nice price for a 750ml.  Your next bottle will be even cheaper now that you know where to go and your not spending all the saved money on gas.  Lol.

  • One of my vendors just dropped off a bottle of Woodfords Reserve.  Wife also bought a 1/2 gal Makers Mark, so the liquor cabinet in my wood shop is stocked again!

Just googled Maker's 46 looking for a Manhattan recipe and found this. How to use 46 let alone uses of the empty bottle!

Simple drink to make and very delicious. I actually like Jim Beam Black in my Manhattan, but the Makers will be great. It’s a more prestigious pour anyway. You will have increased panache with the Makers! Cheers Ron!

@CigarCityEgger - good thing it's a short winter where you are otherwise you would need a refueling mid-way thru.  ;)

That Woodford Reserve on the left - the Double Oakes- absolutely my favorite.  How much does it cost in you area?   It's significantly more expensive than the regular Woodford, like $60 vs $34!  But I still buy it.

Me too. I’ve prolly thrown away a half dozen bottles without replenishment. Likely a sign of a personal problem, considering I’m still left with a couple dozen bottles of brown and blonde water. LOL!

I got this one at total wine for $54.99, so pretty much $60 after tax. I love both but the double Oaked is worth it every once and awhile to me
