They still work without the website, plus they can now broadcast directly to the app.  Only thing you wont be able to do is monitor outside of a couple hundred feet.  Egg on........

Exactly. Plug it in and set your temp.

FWIW, the Flameboss will operate just fine without the site...you just can't monitor it remotely.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Actually the 300s can.  They can connect directly to the app on your phone via a Wi-Fi signal they broadcast.  Turn on Wi-Fi on a phone or tablet and connect to the flameboss "router".
  • Wasn’t even aware there was an app. Always use the site!

And our turkey day was last month.
  • Same problem here.-have FB 200. Website is down. Installed app but unable to log in. FB unit is working though. Will have to go outside every hour or so to check it though.

I put a couple of pork butts on yesterday afternoon so they would leave time for the turkey and the bourbon pecan pie today. I woke up at one am (PST) and saw that all was well. I woke up again at 0 dark thirty and saw that the site was off line. No big deal, really, I get up early for work every weekday anyway. Went out and checked, and the temp was rock solid (FB300) and one of the butts was up to temp and probe tender. I thought they would take longer, but what the heck. Flame Boss did its thing without the web site, but I guess I will lose my cook record. Unless that is backed up somewhere in the cloud.

So the site was good through the hurricanes, but went down on turkey day? Interesting. Probably a Republican/Democrat/Russian/Flat Earth/Big Tobacco/PETA conspiracy.

The website has nothing to do with the cook whatsoever unless you require a graph to cook your turkey.  If the website went down today forever I could still cook with it all day every day.

Yeah I’m from the lower 48 however. So doing mine today.
  • Looks like the website at least is back up, I am able to view my cook currently.

You should either be smart enough to move someplace inhabitable or hard enough not to be a big baby. ;-)

Hey! After doing this for years with nothing I decided to pay good money for my electronics to work properly!

It’s no big deal though, as others said the controller is still working and it’s not too cold here today. Just a lot warmer in the home.

The Apple app came out over the summer, and the Android app came out a few weeks ago.  Both work great!!

Looks like the site came back for a little while, and my graph was complete. I know I don't need it, but what the hell, I like having it! Site went down again, but the turkey and pie will be okay.

  • Just a nuisance. I thought maybe so many people were cooking with it today that their server got overloaded.

But it's working just fine, and mine is on the patio, close enough to the house that I can see it without going out in the cold. No problem.

I’m interested too. Have been happy with my old cyber q but you sold me on the 300.
  • The FB server has been coming and going lately, so they're obviously working on it. Not an issue, but kind of odd that it happens on a holiday like this.

Not odd at all......it's like you can expect to see traffic jams on the highways at 5pm weekdays.  Everybody that has one of these things has a smoker, and most are probably using it today.  They went down briefly on 4th of July, Christmas, and other buys weekends.  Their downtime has been minimal, but it's always been on a day/time where you know a TON of their customers are using them.
  • Ah, I see. Didn't know about the other holiday outages. Makes sense.
Now everyone go buy a FB if you don't already have one. Then they'll have the cash flow to upgrade their server.  =)

Truth be told, I purchased a Stoker several years back (since replaced by a Flame Boss) after a few too many egg visits in the middle of the night in Chicago. Chalk me up as "too soft to live that far north"
