I let my meat loaf....and mashed up some mash taters...

....while watching the Gamecocks play. Ron @RRP turned me on to this meatloaf frame (not a pan)....and allows for some nice smoke intake.

Mashed up some taters while the loaf got happy.

Update on the loaf.........I can see paradise by the dashboard light.....

Got a crack in it but hell, I got a crack in my *** too. I ain't gonna worry bout it. Temped at 120 at this point.

Temping at 165 now.....added first application of a bayou bourbon glaze. Mashed some glaze down in the crack too.  ;)

Secound slather....we gonna be eatin shortly.

My last one developed a similar crack. Must be a sign of goodness by great cooks, or a happy coincidence.

Looks great! I've been using those baskets for the past 20 years. Pain in the neck to clean, but it puts the smoke to the meat.

@northGAcock where can I find the pan? Seems to be discontinued. I guess a cooling rack would do the same job. It's not all nice as the pan.

Looking good! Love meatloaf cooked on the egg. I think the "crack" is actually the meatloaf smiling since it finally got cooked the way it was supposed to be cooked. Of course, I could be wrong. =)

If I recall, I ordered it direct from Brinkman. It's been a while though.

My wife does not like meatloaf. Any meatloaf. I love it, and yours looked fantastic.
I might need to cook a small one if for no other reason I have not cooked one on the egg. Maybe after I do and persuade her to try a slice she will change her mind.

Today's Sammie. Meatloaf warmed on cast iron, BH American Cheese, seeded bun with mayo and 1000 island dressing. The last of the Vidalia onions (sautéed)  and served with leftover taters.

I love meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Even more since I bought the Egg. Our recipe changes every time depending on what we have around and how we feel. We have also done the taters in a mixer, food processor, ricer, and old fashioned manual masher. I like them all! Speaking of old fashioned, what year is that Mixmaster? Looks like one my mother had when I was a kid.

The best thing about meatloaf is the leftovers made into a sammich

Unknown year on the mixer, but it is old. It was my mom's as well. Have wanted to upgrade for years, my mom taught my wife to make a caramel cake in it....and wife holds to the tradition. Interestingly, about 8-9 years ago I replaced the beaters. It works well so why replace it I guess.
