Labor Day Pizza Throwdown

It's been a minute since we've had a throw down around here. A lot of the newbies have never had the opportunity to participate in one. For Labor Day, I'm hosting a pizza throwdown.

A few basic rules. Pizza has to be cooked from this Friday through Monday. I don't care about your great looking pie from 2015. Post/submission can only contain a max of three pics. One on the cooking vessel, one finished product, and one wildcard (submitters choice). Most likes wins. Winner has to host the next throw down (next month). I'll create a separate thread for entries on Friday night. I'll send the winner a bottle of Sam's BBQ 1 pig dust or brisket rub.

I'm cooking a SRF brisket on Friday and beef tenderloin on Monday. It's going to rain Saturday and Sunday. Will you accept beef entries en lieu of pizza? I'm really not all that good at reading instructions.

Beef is good as long as it's on a pizza  ;)

Is it OK if I cook pizza in an oven? Or how about if I order takeout pizza and put beef on it?

These are serious questions that require serious answers.

And no, I have not been hump day drankin, or maybe I have...

Too much BS on here lately. We need to get back to our roots. We used to have throw downs all the time.

Cooking vessel?  Like an egg mounted on a sailboat?

Trying to keep the Forno Bravo and Blackstone crowd involved. And apparently the Maytag range crowd.

You let the Blackstone in on this, and they will win. That isn't even a fair fight. Guess I need to get my Blackstone pizza oven back from my neighbor and start some dough.

The reason pizza was chosen is that it was one of those best throwdowns I can remember. It has absolutely nothing to do with the other thread.

Well, I was supposed to host the next throw down. So I'll throw in a $20 prize.

I am in. Suzy and I are trying our hand at making some bread on the BGES this weekend, we will crank up the XL for a pie or two.
    We'll see what happens...
BTW - added some sugar to the pig rub, and used it to dust chicken legs today. Best thing I had ever had off the egg. Contractor wants to buy a whole chicken for me to cook, and my neighbor across the street, the guy that buys me ribs to cook for him, told me they were awesome. He ate 5-6 of those things.
Thanx Michael, my game just got serious.

Whoa...no need to be so brusque. That kind of play might draw a flag.

Some of us have to work on Labor Day. And if that makes you laugh, good!

Wait. What. Huh?  Is this some sort of cooking forum thing?  Well I guess I could try to zoom in on a pizza cooking at Papa John's.

That totally makes sense.  What doesn't is all the other days.

Thanks for saving my, "1.  Do you..."  even have an egg , and 2. Do you even cook on it post.

    There is too much BS.

If I were around an egg this weekend, I would play.

Looking forward to seeing some egg creations.

Sounds fun, and we were planning on cooking a pizza tomorrow night anyway. I'm in ... although being on the wrong side of the pond,  probably exempt from the 1st class prize. :)
