OT - Cleaning grinder plates.

Just bought a Weston #22 grinder, primarily to "make dog food" (my, those are lovely sausage stuffing attachments!), and just limbered it up for the first production run. I ground 11# of Costco chicken thighs, first through 7mm plate, then again through 4.5mm plate, followed by 20 hard boiled eggs, then some stale bread to push the last through. It was a tedious and painful process to get the 4.5 mm plate clean. Anyone have any suggestions, comments, PFM tricks?

Put it in a small stainless pot and boil it in a little water with a drop or 2 of dish soap. Follow with a bristle brush after it cools a bit then a spray of cooking oil to stop it from rusting before you box it back up.
    Thank you,

Thanks fella's, now that I've read your suggestions, I'm thinking a .22 nylon bore brush might do the trick as well. Appreciate the input!

You have already received some good advice above. As such, I will offer this to add a few tips and my 2 cents as well.
If the internals of your grinder are real greasy, run a few pieces of bread or several crackers (doesn't matter what type of bread/crackers) through the grinder to remove the excess gunk and small pieces.
Hot water and Dawn dish soap are your friend.
Hot water, Dawn dish soap and ammonia are possibly your best friend.
I use ammonia religiously my friend. It makes life easy.
