Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. With a little luck and care, it should last me the rest of my life unless it's a lemon.

Make no mistake my friend, in no way do I have Rons money. Actually Ron will probably be insulted that you mentioned my meager income along side of his vast and enormous fortune. Like most folks my age, I was able to put up a little during the Glory Days of Big Ron, but atlas, it's about gone my friend. Rons money will still be around when the Gates and Rockefeller fortune has long expired.Eggscuses said:Must be nice to have Rons money

In an earlier life our good friend @Focker painted those JD tractors! So you could say he had green in his veins before owning a BGE!SGH said:

Surely that tiny guy isn't running PTO is it?
Sweet "Green Machine" buddy. Sometimes the package deal is the best way to go and in your case it certainly was.
I miss this thing.

It actually has 2 pto's. One on the rear to run a cutter or tiller and one under the middle to drive the belly mower. It has way more power than you would think. It's a 3 cylinder diesel with 25.4 horsepower. It's a stout little rig. It really surprised me.NPHuskerFL said:Surely that tiny guy isn't running PTO is it?Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

So true my friend. Assembled the combine ladders, made a sh!t ton of JD green, yellow, Cat gold and black. My dad built combines at JD Harvester for 35. Growing up, he always said we bleed green. JD put damn good beef from the Hillsdale, IL meat locker in my piehole, and the best health insurance. Didn't hurt, my dad's best friend, who also worked with him at Harvester, was a hog farmer.RRP said:

@NPHuskerFL You and I must be about the same age. Thanks for posting that, sure did bring back memories of being 8 years old and up to no good.

Nice tractor. A number of years ago I had the Kubota version. It was a BX22.
It was a nice machine, however it did have a few things I disliked. Taking the front end loader and backhoe off and on was tedious. The backhoe was particularly aggravating, it had a strict order you had to follow in order to prevent damaging the rear sheet metal.
The 60 inch belly mower also was a pain, it could not be backed over for removal. You had to rotate the mower wheels 180 degrees and man handle the deck out from under the tractor. With the deck weighing 300 # it was a struggle. Being a suspended mower deck, rather than a floating design the cut quality was really poor.
It's amazing how compact the machines are, and equally amazing how much floor space the implements take up when removed from the tractor.
Other than these issues I enjoyed having it.
I do think your JD is a superior design that will serve you well.
Congrats on an excellent purchase. -
More important than the cool toy is your coming out of one hell of a bad run.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

@SGH, if youre able to give that do everything machinery the SGH Seal of Approval after you tried it out in many applications, Id love to see it....would reassure all that JD still puts out great products. I believe they do.
THAT is the ultimate utility yard toy
Nice get and you can trench a nice charcoal making pit for converting wood to lump with that bad boy... -
Thanks brother. If I ever get off of nightshift I'm going to test it out. I will gladly share the pros and cons that I find with it. Now that I have the backhoe, I may cook a hog or two underground. Been many years since I have done one underground. Now I don't have any excuse for not doing it.westernbbq said:@SGH, if youre able to give that do everything machinery the SGH Seal of Approval after you tried it out in many applications, Id love to see it....would reassure all that JD still puts out great products.
