Reverse seared ribeye, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, birthday cake and an all-clear (lots of pics)

A close friend was recently given the "all clear" for the c-word, and also reached a major milestone birthday. So we threw them a double-celebration party meal.
Rib-eye steaks rubbed with Cosmic Cow then reverse-sear cooked at 250F/125C until meat hit 125F IT (approx. 1h30m), veg cooked in foil cover underneath. Then the meat was tented and covered with a towel. The veg wasn't quite done so Egg up to 400F/200C for another 15 minutes.
Removed the platesetter, got the Egg up to 600F/315C, seared steak each side twice for 30 secs to get the cross hatch. Served with some green veg and a variety of delicious red wines.
Mushrooms with butter and Red Eye Express

Sweet potatoes with Pineapple Head

Stacked in a major feat of engineering ... not a great photo, SWMBO didn't take this one

Veg wrapped on the Egg

The meat! Rubbed with Cosmic Cow

Ready to rock and ... erm ... cook

Steak done

Plated

And lastly ... a birthday cake

Nah, SWMBO cooked that in our oven. It's the first time it was used this month, it was feeling kinda lonely and left out.SBGonzo said:Nice....looks great! Did you also cook the cake on the Egg?

They left clutching some Dizzy Pig rubs, having been captivated by the flavours. They don't have an Egg (yet ... give it time ...) but were determined to explore using rubs in their cooking.
