I failed to mention, she laughed, very hard. She knows me too well. Great friends and we are fortunate to have them as neighbors. You would like them very much.northGAcock said:
great post.YukonRon said:My next door neighbor mentioned the storm's strength, while telling me it kept her up all night. She explained that she took a peek out the back window to watch the trees bend, the lightning show, and the deluge of rain.
She followed by asking herself, what idiot would be out at this hour of night, in this horrible weather? Then she saw me, in my t-shirt and pjs, wearing flip flops, under the patio umbrella holding a flashlight messing around on the BGE.
She said risking my life over a all night cook could not be worth it.
Ha, I laugh at her.
She was wrong, and I said to her, "I am not an idiot, I am a Democrat, thank you very much."
Told her.

I'm just glad the winds haven't toppled the egg with that great hunk of cow in it. I would be way beyond devastated.

Most likely the cow saved the BGE given its weight. Continues to look great. Home stretch now.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

If it would have toppled, I would have been very upset, however if the weather took out the Bourbon, they would need a whole new term that would mean "worse than devestated."Foghorn said:I'm just glad the winds haven't toppled the egg with that great hunk of cow in it. Found this meteorite on my BGE. Think I will keep it. IT was 192F and very soft to the probe. The rub I used smells divine. Resting for a bit, then wrapping with BP, towel and cooler until ready to serve.
If it is 1/10th as good as it smells, it will be delicious.

Without a doubt the most fun cook you can do. Glad you enjoyed the post. Now for the good part, shoving as much of that in my face as I can without humiliating My Beautiful Wife in the presence of her co-workers.Cookbook_Chip said:This has been fun to watch all day sitting behind a dang desk.
