Really botched the spoon bread. Need a recipe please...

Folks: I've made boxed spoon bread previously and it's fine. Wanted to make it from scratch tonight. Found a "classic Virginia recipe". It was no good. Gonna try to salvage it in a frying pan for breakfast. Got a scratch recipe for me? many thanks

Live in GA 43 years now and this is the first time I have heard of spoon bread. It sounds good though.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

For this recipe I did not preheat the skillet.
I don't remember having any sticking issues.
I will have to make it again this weekend now that you ask :-)

Many of the corn bread type instructions ask you to preheat the cast iron.
I guess they are looking for a nice crust that may not be needed/wanted in this case.

Salvaged it by adding some salt and browning both sides in butter in a skillet. Topped with a runny fried egg. Was quite tasty after that treatment.
