We are either going to do pizza for a small family super bowl gathering or we will go the steak quesadilla and chicken fajita route.

Havent made za in momths though and am really wanting to shake off the cobwebs and get back in my pizza groove....

Planning on a Boston Butt, we need enough for 14 people! The wife keeps pushing the time line up so it looks like an early morning start for me. Hope it's a good game!

I will probably not be following the tongue in cheek fare.  Who wants dirty birds?   Probably something snotty.  Something that will be mocked by grass fed forum members from Iowa.  Although, thinking it through, they don't have a stake in the game either.  oh well.  Chicken or sea cucumber.  Will figure it out on game day.

Hey man, at least we won a super duper bowl.

I'm sad to say that I'll probably root for my most hated team - the dirty birds - because I feel so sorry for them.  And...then there's: F the dynasty. AKA pats

F-everyone with lotsa love, your friend forever, nola.

I picked up a PRIME tritip at Wassi's in Melbourne yesterday.  that thing is gorgeous, and I'll be doing that Sunday.  I may do some ribs along side.

Good game above else.  I don't like 'em, but it's hard to bet against the Belicheck - Brady combo!

well, started with a simple plan to just have a spread of apps, but now it looks like I don't have enough frozen brisket point for burnt ends, so picked up a brisket to cook, pork burnt ends, wings and smoking a pastrami, oh, and a couple racks of baby backs that are currently curing to make bacon ribs.  simple, sheesh.

My chili spiced pineapple is set for delivery today so it looks like the Pineapple Gems will be in the lineup!

Interesting read for those who may have heard of a guy named Michael Vick:

What an incoherent rambling article from Vick. Seems like he's trying to interject himself into the Falcons current success. What was he trying to accomplish by writing that?

  • I think I'm going to do:
    pulled pork sliders
    mac and cheese
    ABT's
    baked beans

any recipes for these would be appreciated!!!

  • 8 lbs of wings for the party.

Separated the flats from the drummies last night and they're sitting on racks in the fridge as I write this.  Tonight I'll roll them in my 3:1 rub:cornstarch mix and they'll do another fridge sit through Saturday night.  On Sunday, before they go on the egg (2 levels, indirect at 375-400 to prevent burning), I'll run them through a bag of lightly seasoned pork rind powder.  And before serving, they'll get tossed in a bowl of Franks-butter-worcestershire for the Buffalo ala Henderson kick.  Yeah, I'm just a little psyched about these wings.

    Go Falcons.
    It's a 302 thing . . .

    Nice @Focker.

I'm cooking up some wings to go with the guac and queso my wife is making.  It will just be 4 of us at her parents' cabin.  Working to refine/tune my wing game in preparation for Salado, but these won't have as much kick because the in-laws like them a little milder.

I'm heading the restaurant depot thinking some skirt into the sous vide tonight and sear off Sunday for some fajitas. Trying to keep it simple so there's more time to drink. Oh and watch the game.
  • Just left Costco for "paper products."  Somehow this stuff ended up on my cart:

Chili and Garlic Wings (indirect on the egg at 400 degrees)

Plain wings (to season, deep fry, and toss in sauce)

Ground Chuck (sliders on the Blackstone)

In addition to that, I plan on doing this cheese football dip recipe that's pretty tasty.
