Now cooking in the rain at my brother's. He has a KJ classic and a BGE Mini but no Smokeware cap. Not windy so the foil is working OK for now.

Brisket cooks-the most fun you can have with the BGE. Enjoy the cook and follow-on eats. Lookin good.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Prime Brisket for under $3 a lb. Shoot me now."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

@JohnInCarolina - Just this past week and for the last few months the local Costco has had prime packers at $2.89-2.99/lb. So you better have plenty of ammo.
BTW enjoy the last of 2016-I am ready for this year to become history (but not for the election result

This will also keep anyone from reading the briskest's mind. Tinfoil is so useful.Photo Egg said:Now cooking in the rain at my brother's. He has a KJ classic and a BGE Mini but no Smokeware cap. Not windy so the foil is working OK for now.

What are you using for seasoning?

HEB seems to be on top of this, I picked up a 15# USDA prime brisket for $1.97 per pound a few weeks back. Since then, they have only been getting USDA Select for the $1.97 price.JohnInCarolina said:Prime Brisket for under $3 a lb. Shoot me now. -
Wrapping for the rest. Tender at 195.

That looks awesome. As long as we're confessing, I did a non-egg brisket today too. On a friend's

Akorn because he wanted to learn how to cook a brisket.
If if you can find it, and you want to splurge on a brisket, get a prime one from Creekstone Farms. They supply Aaron Franklin. At $4.99/pound it was more expensive than HEB or Costco prime, but much cheaper than Snake River Farms.
My friend was at Franklin's a few weeks ago. He said this one was better. We also dropped on a couple of racks of Duroc St. Louis cut ribs.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle
