OT-Heading to Franklin BBQ, what's the parking like?

I'm finally making the trek to Austin from Arlington to try Franklin BBQ, and my buddy I'm going with heard that parking is spotty at best. I was hoping someone who's been there could give me some tips on where to park!

True about no line sitting. If this is a day trip then the lot to the side of his place will likely get filled (depending upon weather) by around 9 - 9:30 AM at the latest mid-week. I arrived at 8 AM (early Dec) and was about # 30 in-line.
The day prior I showed up at 1:30 PM and got in as they still had brisket (my objective). I stayed about 2 blocks from Franklin's so parking was not an issue.
Agree with Uber if that works.
I would put Valentina's on your target list along with La BarBeque. All three will exceed your expectations going in and I preferred the bark flavor at Valentinas. FWIW-

No uber in Austin... They threw their toys out of the prim and ran away. 10 10 taxi, or other ride shares work, but are spotty compared to uber.
I find that you can usually improvise a parking spot somewhere. Even if it's a five minute walk, that's shorter than waiting for a ride share.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Austin, Texas. I'm the guy holding a beer. -
Parking sucks but you can park at the cvs a block away. My advice is to get there early and not stress.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

Thanks everyone! I'm leaving the DFW area around 5 AM so should make it to Franklin by 8 - 8:30. Hopefully early enough to not fret about it too much. I'll throw some food porn pics up tomorrow!

Can you bring a chair? and beer? If so I would be all set with a bag chair and a cooler.

Yes you can bring beer and chairs-there is even an abandoned chair locker outside for those who don't bring and want to sit. As cap says- Valentina's is the shizzle. This is where I eat 10-1 over Franklins because there is no line. Ironically, Franklin called them out as his favorite in our state fishwrap (Texas Monthly Magazine)
still-the pilgrimage to Franklins is fun and well worth it.

Uber and Lyft left Austin due to the local screening laws. We arrived on a Saturday morning at 6:00 AM and were the 2nd in line. Bring something me chairs as the free chairs go fast.
