Tri-Tip suggestions
wrobs
Posts: 109
I have two Tri-Tips I plan to cook tomorrow and was looking for some suggestions. I normally make a marinade du jour and then cook at 600 deg. for 3 minutes a side... let them rest while I drop Mr. Egg to 400 and then finish to about 135 internal. What are some of your favorite ways to cook 'em? Marinade? Rub? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

wrobs,[p]On a tri-tip, I usually start out on a lower temp until the internal reaches around 120 then crank it up and sear last.[p]good luck!

wrobs, Sounds like you are on the right track but I usually pull mine at 125°.

wrobs,
I do mine slo @250 dome till 125, I remove and go direct at 600 for the sear. The meat will rest on the counter for about 15-20 minutes till the Egg comes to sear temp.
