A Little Snack To Go With Some J.D

I threw on a bacon beef cream cheese spinach pinwheel on the mini while it battled 50+ mph winds outside. I've been battling empty glasses of Jack Daniels inside! ;) You have to pick and choose your battles I'm told! =) I cut some potatoes down into wedges but those went into the oven. A simple little snack this evening:

  • Pinwheels looked awesome, not so sure about the JD, Evan Williams or Beam guy here.
The ideal way to consume is to pour two ounces out of the bottle (750ml/26er/fifth), splash of water and enjoy - no ice, no mix, just neat.
For the second drink, top the bottle up to it's original full level with water and save on glasses, just drink out of the bottle.
To avoid spillage, remember to cap it before bending down to adjust the lower vent!

Not a big JD fan but JB honey and iced tea is awesome.
Here is my one and only bottle of JD, and it will never be opened. Only 150 in the world.

    That's awesome! @hondabbq

I'm a beer guy myself. I do enjoy whiskey and bourbon though. I had a couple J.D honey and Cokes last night. I really enjoy the honey version as well.

I just bought a bottle of the JB Apple on Thursday. I cracked that and took a shot. That was good too. I think JD has an apple one as well. Wisers has an apple one too.

I'll have to give apple a go. It isn't like an apple jolly rancher is it?

@hondabbq - will have to try JD Honey with iced tea, never thought of that. (Is that Canuck or US style iced tea?)
Love the Motley Crew bottle of JD, a keeper for sure. Not sure if you are a fan but I see that Vince Neil was just "uninvited" from the Donald's inauguration.
EDIT - I like using JD honey in any recipe for sauce that calls for bourbon, makes a nice addition to apple butter BBQ sauce.

Not it's not sickly sweet. It's less than the honey but the Apple is definitely in there.

Nice! I've seen it on the shelf but figured it would be like how you described as, "sickly sweet". I'll have to pick some up and try it out. Thanks

Thanks! @bgebrent I'm a little embarrassed to say I haven't tried either brand. I know the names but have yet to try them out.

I'm with Brent. Dump that Jack out and get you a bottle of Woodford. You won't be sorry. (And keep the mixers away!)

    pinwheel looks great

I need to step up my liquor game. It's true. Always been a beer guy. I'll have to see what this sipping is all about. I don't do good sipping. That's probably why I'm a beer guy. Once a beer is open it's down a few minutes later. I should appreciate the taste of some good whiskey. Thanks for the recommendation @Kill it then Grill it

You make that look too easy! Now I want to learn the pin wheel!

@Hans61 Way too easy. Especially when your wife buys them. ;) I don't think it's super complicated. Just some flank steak rolled up with some cream cheese, bacon, and spinach. It was a great combination of flavors. Definitely will be trying these myself when I find myself with some extra skirt steak next time.
