...and they were awesome. Found them at Tillmans in Jacksonville. Kosher salt and coarse black pepper rub. It truly is meat candy on a stick.

Man they look beautiful. Random observation, but I notice I almost always see a smoke ring on beef ribs, but it is elusive on brisket.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

no idea. Didnt bother to ask. They took about 5 hours at 300f. Wife looked at them and said they were to big. She has no appreciation for what I foundDobie said:Oh snap, I'm my hood! What grade?

RD is not open to the public, but you can get access by joining KC BBQ Society (www.kcbs.us) or, if you have a business, just go in and join - free membership.Two_Down said:@HoustonEgger - thanks a million for the tip. @Two_Down , Restaurant Depot requires a free membership which is normally only available to anyone with a business - doesn't have to be a food business. Alternatively you can join the Kansas City BBQ Society and that card will get you a day pass (as often as you like) to Restaurant Depot. You won't be sorry if you can manage to get a membership. Bring a jacket since their meat cooler is very cold and LARGE. Many RD's also have fresh fish departments that are great.Two_Down said:@HoustonEgger - thanks a million for the tip. That's what I did. Cost me $35 for the KCBS membership and it is worth it. RD is awesome.Shiff said:

I cooked a rack of them this past weekend. Nice looking cook. They are always a hit. My butcher usually has cut ones in the case but if asked they bring out 3 or 4 slabs for me to choose from.Medium BGE , iGrill2

I've only found true plate ribs once and they were the best thing I've ever eaten. Yours look most eggcellent!XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum

No you'll need a membership to get in. You can use either a business license (I just asked my boss) or get a KCBS membership. I just went to the one in the Heights this afternoon and confirmed they have the plate ribs. Picked up some pork belly for bacon, eye rounds of beef for jerky and 40lbs bags of mesquite lump for $14.95 each (Lazzari brand).Two_Down said:@HoustonEgger - thanks a million for the tip.
