    Best cover is John Cale's in the movie Shrek, although KD does a nice cover as well. His older stuff, Suzanne - First we take Manhattan is timeless. A favourite around my house. An amazing talent, RIP Mr. Cohen.

    I always felt like no one knew that was his song and it ticked me off. I don't know if it's true but I heard he had dozens and dozens of different verses for it.

    The history of that song is amazing.  Malcolm Gladwell has a podcast that tells the history of it, along with other examples of how songs that are not great when originaly written can be reborn later by someone else or by the same person with a new perspective and that can flip the switch from a mediocre song to a great one.  It's an interesting listen if you've got time in a car on on a plane.  I think he said that Leonard Cohen had written well over 20 verses to that song trying to get it right over the years.  May have been over 40.  Good listen if you're so inclined.

    Favorite part of Shrek, no doubt.
    I don't think there is a bad cover out there.  But if I had to pick one, this is it.  Raw, beautiful, nothing to hide behind.

    Ironically, I was at a Bob Dylan show last night when the news came out. Bob credits Leonard for a great deal of his inspiration and drive. I am a fan of LC but have not had a chance to listen to his last album released a few weeks ago. I did see on a recent expose that his son had set up a studio in their home for this recording. Many of the instruments tracks were laid down at other locations. He said it had brought much joy to him in his final days.

    Sharron Robertson....was a great collaborator of his....she has a wonderful voice as well.One of my favorites is "Closing time".   I will leave this here for you all to enjoy.
