MiniMax - Need anything under it for protection?

I recently "stole" a MM from CL a few weeks ago (thanks Hurricane Matthew) and finally set it up. I now need to find a home for it. Can I put it right on the granite of my egg table or should I have something under it to protect the granite? Any other small table suggestions for it? Thanks!

Mine sits on the granite beside the large. Been that way for over a year. No issues other than my table gets dirty(er)

Mine sits right on a wooden table.
It use to be a tall, outside, bar type table.
But took the lower half of the legs off.
The photo is from the 4th of July what are you cooking thread.
I can give specs on anything in the photo if you would like. -
@HofstraJet You don't necessarily need anything under your MX if it's sitting on top of your granite piece. However if it sits on top of bare wood, I personally would put some foil underneath the MX just in case of ash spillage. I placed my MX on top of a 16" square porcelain tile I picked up at a local Home Depot and wrapped it several times in heavy aluminum foil. In addition to protecting the table from heated ash (and food particles), it helped distribute the weight of my MX across a larger area on top of my table. Hope this helps.

No, it will be fine.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -
I had my MM on a bare wooden table I recently refinished right beside my Large. After a few months of light use, I could see a slight discolouration and change in the table's texture directly under the MM. The MM now sits on a piece of ceramic.

I would definitely put something underneath of it. I was using the Husky X-Horse as a table without any protection in between the plastic top and the bottom of the grill. The table it still in working condition, but the top has melted a bit. I would think that it would also discolor any stained wood as well.

I just got a Challenger cart for my LBGE. Is it necessary to have something underneath the egg? All the pictures on the Challenger site show the eggs directly on the table.Cooking on a LBGE and MM down in Miami, FL.

Challenger Designs advertises that the Egg can actually sit directly on the table without anything underneath.HurricaneEddie1 said:I just got a Challenger cart for my LBGE. That being said, both of mine are in table nests.

I set my Mini Max on a small folding table that is plastic, but put some leftover ceramic floor tiles underneath it. Works great, no issues.
