Platesetter is about useless...not worth buying IMHO

The woo/stone is a better setup than a platesetter for sure. I just got my MM and you really need a way to raise the grid to grill. At least I did but others may have it figured out better than me.

Mine came with a PS but I bought the woo after 3 cooks. Get the little wok too. tons of fun

Agree with above. Skip the platesetter and get the Woo and pizza stone.

  • I have the platesetter, no issues here.
  • Have mini for about a month. Am cooking almost daily.
One needs to raise the grid as distance between charcoal and grid is not much. Food tends to burn quickly when grilling on direct.
Have both PS and woo. Use PS for pizzas and woo for grilling
    Haven't used wok yet
If getting woo, 10 inch pizza stone is good for indirect heat --you place it at the lower ring of woo. I got 10 inch for pizza stone to bake pizza on-realized that 12 inch would fit--got one and like 12 inch more than 10 inch.
Got about 14 inch grill grates for searing steaks
Overall happy with mini but as I don't travel much--I would have gone for medium--just because it has more distance between charcoal and the grid.

Agree with everything you said. I'm not a huge fan of how close the grid is to the lump. I'm sure I'll get used to it but the jury is still out for me.

Have had a mini for a year, use the PS, and have had zero problems. Direct, no issues either. Love this BGE.
